Chest implants give the thorax a more muscular and athletic appearance. Men with a slender build know only too well that weight training is not enough. Placing a chest implant is the most effective solution.
Indication: Weak pectoral muscles
Chest implants are suitable for young men with an underdeveloped ribcage or middle-aged men with sagging breasts.
The pectoral muscles, located on the chest, are divided into two groups of muscles: the large pectoral on the lower part and the small pectoral on the upper part. For some men, weight training exercises that are aimed at developing these two muscles alternately do not succeed in developing the pectoral muscles sufficiently.
The only way to have a well-muscled chest is to have prostheses placed.
How the procedure works
Chest implant placement is done under general anaesthetic with one overnight stay in hospital and lasting between 45 minutes to 1h30.
The prostheses consist of smooth shells filled with a highly cohesive silicone gel. The chest implant consists of a smooth envelope filled with a highly cohesive silicone gel.
The surgeon will make a vertical incision of about six centimetres soaAny scars will therefore be invisible. The practitioner then places the prosthesis in a space under the pectoralis major muscle.
He then performs the sutures with absorbable stitches and applies a modelling dressing to the torso.
Post-operative effects
The pain is negligible and well managed by analgesics. It gradually fades during the first week. There will be swelling and bruising, as well as some discomfort when lifting the arms, for a few weeks.
The patient must wear a compression bolero day and night for one month to keep the chest prostheses in place. The patient can resume daily activities after one week, work between one to two weeks after and sports after two to three months.
Results
Results are immediately visible after the operation. The torso will have a natural and muscular appearance. The pectoral muscles will be more toned and have better definition. Muscle function is not impaired.
Chest prostheses can be worn for life or removed at the patient's request.
