Hymenoplasty is an intimate surgical procedure that allows a woman to regain an intact hymen in a completely undetectable way.
Indications A torn hymen
The hymen is the membrane that separates the vagina from the vulva and it tears when having sexual intercourse for the first time. The hymen is more or less elastic depending on the woman. Some women are born without a hymen, for others it gets broken when riding, cycling, doing gymnastics, or even by inserting a sanitary tampon. On the other hand, some women can give birth with a hymen that is still almost intact. The hymen therefore offers very fragile proof of female virginity.
Hymenoplasty is not always performed in preparation for a wedding. It may happen that after a rape, women can avail themselves of this operation to erase the trauma and regain their bodily integrity. Other women may also want a reconstructed hymen as a way to turn over a new leaf page, after a relationship that has ended.
How the hymen surgery procedure works
The hymenoplasty operation is performed under local anesthesia without hospitalization and lasts about half an hour.
The surgeon uses the sequelae of the torn hymen by cutting them in the middle and joining them together. If the hymen tissue remains are insufficient, he takes a sample from the surrounding mucous membranes to reconstitute a solid membrane. He then stitches it with an absorbable suture that disappears after ten to fifteen days. The scar is hidden in the folds of the hymen and is totally invisible.
Post-operative effects
The patient experiences very mild pain and can return to work the next day. In order for it to heal properly, the patient must avoid excessive physical activities as well as the sauna or swimming pool for one month.
Results
Results of the hymenoplasty are immediate. The reconstitution of the hymen membrane lasts until the next time the patient has sexual intercourse. It is undetectable even in the case of a gynaecological examination prior to a marriage.
When the hymen breaks, blood loss is not systematic. However, even in the absence of bleeding, the man will feel resistance at the time of penetration. To increase the likelihood of bleeding before marriage, some women are not afraid to have surgery a week before the wedding, so that the wound, unhealed, causes bleeding on the sheets.
